So if we look on this same rejection letter, to J R R Tolkien again:



And compare it to two of the other rejection letters on the same page - from Random House:

The letter papers seems to be foulded exatly the same - and there are similar dots on the three letters!
So, yes! You're right! It must be a fake!

yup. also dont think "porta-potty" as a term would have even been around in 1953.
