Wah - new circuit

A friend has a newer Vox wah that he hates. He's now considering letting me just put a nice circuit in there instead of getting an upmarket wah... Since I've never cared for wah's I have a few questions...

He really likes the Hendrix-type sound. Can anyone help me out with any layouts for that type of sound? I've checked through my layout collection but there's nothing remotely useful in there...

Also, he's not too fond of the sweep. How much can we influence this by staying in the old enclosure?

As you see, n00bish q's... Sorry 'bout that! :tu:

I'm sure you've probably already tried this, but have you thought about:
-Vocal mod -- shove a 68k or a 100k resistor instead of the stock 33k in parallel with the inductor (my 60s Clyde has a 100 in there and sounds great).
-Get a whipple or one of Stu's inductors.
-Play around with the sweep cap too.

Those make a big difference in a V847.

(Then dump it and buy a Teese :D)

Which Teese(s) do you recommend?

Which Hendrix wah tones are you after? I think the Picture does a great "Voodoo Child", whereas the Wheels Of Fire can cop a nice "Up From The Skies".

What Sauniere said :tu:

(I have quite a few wahs...I bought the Wheels of Fire as I already have a 60s Clyde McCoy that the Picture is based on.)

They are now on my radar... Want one of each... Want one of everything is the problem with most of us here isn't it?..
Thanks for the heads up!

Hmm... preliminary run through of audio clips on the Teese website has me liking the Picture slightly more...

Consider the Fulltone Clyde as well. I just scored a Deluxe for $99 recently and it's easily the nicest sounding wah I've ever played, not that I've played a whole lot. It has a very smooth top end, a lot less harsh than most other wahs I've tried.

Hmm.. Okay will be on the lookout. A wah is one of the few types of pedal I don't own right now...
