Garrett Fuzz Unit
Hey everybody I was given this old fuzz last night before it got thrown out. Anyone here ever heard or seen something like this? The guy I got it from picked it up in Israel at a flea market.
Looks like 2n1306 transistors but they've no markings on them, attack pot is 25K and has a code 9 66 on it so thinking could be late 66/early 77 build but could be way off. Switch is made in England.
The two boards are blended at the output jack. Two diodes across the attack pot which is connected to the output. Volume pot is on the input. It sounds great kinda zippy and gated. Bunch of photos below.

Neat! And ODD! You gonna draw up a schematic?

I suppose I'll have to won't I. Visually doesn't match anything I've come across.

Ha. Yeah if you're not I will from the pics, but you've got a better vantage point. Doesnt match anything i've seen either.....all 50uF caps and those diodes across the pot? Weird.

Yeah very weird, looks like three almost identical circuits around each transistor.Dr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 6:37 pmHa. Cool box! Should be English fuzz with reverse IN and output?

Dooood. Yeah, I'm lazy, but I'd love to see that schem if you get around to it. That clipping(?) diode section on the pot is too weird.
Almost reminds of Zvex shit with SHOs stacked one after the other to achieve saturation--at a glance anyway.
