The Case of the Fraudulent Pigdogs
I bought a silver SF1 that I found out after the fact had been gutted with the circuit being replaced with some non-Williams wired nonsense (I get by and high with a little help from my friends. Thanks, Leo). I am currently in the process of working things out with the seller and Steve for this pedal to be brought back to its original glory.
Here is the Reverb listing:

I know another gold SF1 was also sold by the same seller, which was also similarly disfigured.

Who bought this unit? I know they also have reached out to Steve Williams. I’m dying to know.

What a strange thing to do.
I bought a VPW Zonk Machine last year that turned out to have been gutted (mailed Steve Giles and he confirmed if wasn't his circuit). Who does that? Seller finally took it back.
Still not quite as bad as that dude in Baltimore a few years ago that was selling fake DAMs complete with forged signatures ...

Not surprising scumbags will try to capitalize on the fact these kind of pedals are selling for 4 figures on the used market now. Crazy times indeed.

I have a line on this, and forgive me if the seller is a member here, but with some of this stuff going on I figure it can't hurt to be double sure that the innards appear original. Can anybody provide an opinion? Thanks

He may be selling for wild prices now but he is an outstanding individual who would only sell the real deal stuff. He has hooked me up with some incredible boxes in the past. At one point he had an extremely large Pigdog collection. He had every September Sound pedal too but I see he is letting most everything go. Big prices but trustworthy person imo.hamoftruth wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 4:43 pm I have a line on this, and forgive me if the seller is a member here, but with some of this stuff going on I figure it can't hurt to be double sure that the innards appear original. Re: The Case of the Fraudulent Pigdogs
I guess dude thought he could re-house the original circuit still play the pedal and then sell the old case for a lot of money. Either way its stupid. Caveat Emptor…always check the gut shots! None of those two pedals look anything like steves work inside. I mean…someone at least put a circuit in there but the other gold SF-1 looks to be a MK 1.5 or something…not even a 3 transistor circuit fo fucks sake!

Well, the moderator won’t let me reply. Why the censorship? Come on The Captain….this is apart of the healing process! The truth is a very strange journey. There are slanted allegations and there are facts! Let the games begin! I suspect you might be the actual pedal builder? You know the insides are quality!
