Transaction With David Lizmi Updated with more information

Hello,

Have any of you been contacted by Dave Lizmi about buying gear from him, specifically high-end fuzz pedals?

Please post in the thread or send me a PM. I am attempting to answer some questions at this point.

Update 1:
David Lizmi contacted me through Instagram, offering to sell me some rare fuzz pedals. We agreed on a price for a Pigdog, two-knob Dirty Mac. He asked for PayPal Friends and Family payment, which I declined to do.

Since payment was made, he has not responded to any requests asking for tracking or shipping information despite having seen and read the messages.

Update 2:
The transaction has been reported to PayPal and is under review. Luckily, I did not pay him using the Friends and Family option, but instead through PayPal and used goods and services, which affords buyer protection.

Still no response to any messages through PayPal or Instagram. I am going to escalate the case as soon as PayPal allows. I will continue to post updates.


Update 3:
PayPal has sided with me and initiated a refund. The money should arrive in my account in a couple of business days. So relieved.

I strongly advise against purchases using the friends and family option with PayPal. You forgo all buyer protections.

Yes, I had a similar experience with Dave Lizmi. I paid him for a pedal, then he refused to send it to me and refused to refund my money. He ultimately stopped responding to my messages and blocked me from his Instagram account too. I had conversations with Liquored Liam, and apparently the same happened to him. I haven't spoken with Liam in a couple of months, so you might want to contact him too and see if he ever got his pedal or a refund of his money. Feel free to IM me for the details. Better yet, avoid Dave Lizmi like the plague!

This comes as a surprise to me. I've never dealt with him or anything, but he's been a pretty big presence on the Instagram 'boutique fuzz' community for a numbers of years and he has a really impressive collection. I have received three separate messages from people who are out of 1k plus due to making payment by friends and family through PayPal.
