So I forgot to ask you last time you were talking about this. Is this practically a Professional MK II with just an added pre gain knob?

Yeah, the drive knob works somewhat like a gain knob, so you can turn it down and use it for crunch rhythm parts. It's kinda like turning your guitar down, but with a wider range and a bit more usable.
