Re:
Do you still have the CV5416 Bee as well? How does it compare to the OC71 version as far as gain structure and how the pedal is tuned. Does it sound about the same as No. 52 or is it a different thing altogether?Taller76 wrote:What I know first hand.....
No 52 (Feb 5 2010) is lime green (Not Psycho Lime) 1290 enclosure, 2xOC71, small (3mm) black LED bezel, yellow LED.
Dont recall what number my SB-66 was but they are either grey or light (what I would call Petty) blue new style enclosure, 2xCV5416 (MIL SPEC OC84), clear 5mm lens, blue LED. There are lots of other little things that evolved (grounding method, pots, switch wiring etc.) but I haven't really paid attention to when they started evolving.

Thanks, tigerdriver.
There's a grey Bee currently for sale (at cost, no less! ) over at TGP. I was kinda hoping that there was a bit more mids because my amp can't really handle bass heavy pedals.
Here's the FS thread for anyone interested:

Re: ALL THE BEES IN THE HIVE - BEE HISTORY
Here is my first D*A*M, thanks to Joe.
In the letter box yesterday so i couldn't use it with the band yet.
Just half an hour yesterday's evening in my music room, but i think it's gonna suit my needs.
A lot of volume available, really nice smooth sounding fuzz, and also lots of gain for a 2 transistors device.
One tranny is a mullard OC76, the other one is a mullard too but i can't see what number?
Would someone tell me what it is from the pictures ?
