Ah, nice. Were these sold direct or through a retailer? They sure look good.

Everything, nothing. Things just didn't go to plan. The Magna's were part of the master plan so them dying a death didn't help, we had hold ups with other things, the paint guys had bear claws for hands, using the words Tone Bender on anything other than a Sola Sound product became uncool over night, and so on.agoldoor wrote:What happened to this line of pedals? Were these related to the Magnatecs and died with those? How many were produced? Who has any of these?
I made 11 TB-00's and 6 TB-02's. There also the two TB-00 as custom units and a single TB-02 as a custom unit. You can pretty much consider it all a custom project in all reality. I do have other enclosures but the drive to do anything is not overly great.
Nope. I'll use what I have one day but *yawn* for the most part for me I'm afraid.agoldoor wrote:Dave, do you intend to do any more in those folded MKI style enclosures?

It's a coming out party for one of the two custom TB-00!The Captain wrote:I made 11 TB-00's and 6 TB-02's. There also the two TB-00 as custom units and a single TB-02 as a custom unit.
#12 "All these MKI type Tone Benders have been assembled by Linzi with the circuit
and transistor set-up all done by Dave. These were tuned as a somewhat refined
version of a 'stock' MKI with some of Dave's own bias tweaks added to stabilize
the circuit. The Attack control has a pretty even sweep from minimum to
maximum and the general tone is pretty tight. The aim was to make the
Attack control give-up a usable musical tone on all settings, a little less of
the radio dial type thing that can occur with the MKI circuit. There aren't so
many artefacts or the overly looseness in the sound with the full-on fuzz tone,
the openness and dynamics are all still present just it's all a little more sucked
in. The transistor set-up is a trio of Mullard OC75's. The construction style is
taken straight from the original MKI's. Linzi chose to do it that way as a nod to
the vintage." Excerpt lifted from Musical Sound Device Production fact sheet.

The D*A*M Tone Bender TB-02
The sonic flavor of the TB-02 stems from the legendary Sola Sound Tone Bender Professional MKII.
Based upon the nature and performance of the later units Sola Sound produced. The TB-02 offers
the user increased clarity and dynamic response over the more classic Tone Bender Professional MKII
tones. Brighter and very much more open in mid-range frequencies to pick attack. High in gain, low
in noise the British made Mullard and IMPEX germanium transistors offers a rich vintage fuzz tones with
great dynamics and musical break-up. Excerpt lifted from Musical Sound Device Production fact sheet.
