Plum Crazy FX Fuzzy Lady & The Squawk

Post by PlumCrazy »

Thought I'd post a couple pedals I've been doing for a while in between my 2 real jobs. I've mainly been selling on Ebay for a year or so, good reviews and a few YouTube videos by some buyers. Hoping to be able to quit the second job so here goes -

Plum Crazy FX Fuzzy Lady
Based on a Fuzz Face/Vox Tonebender. Higher gain than those pedals and a very wide range of sounds with the bias knob. Does the classic sounds as well as going from rounder boosted fuzz to bug spits and spurt with the twist of the Bias knob. Here are the specs:
Matched vintage transistors - hybrid silicon/germanium combo
High/low switch
AC adaptor
Panasonic film and Xicon low-leakage electro caps
1/2w resistors
True-bypass
Bright purple LED
I sell these for $135 (including shipping to the Lower 48, ask for shipping for other areas)

The second is the Plum Crazy FX The Squawk
It's my update of the Rangemaster with the added benefit of a frequency control and a silicon/germanium switch. It loves both single coils and humbuckers and is a very quiet and a killer pedal. Here are the specs:
A switch to choose between a vintage CV7112 germanium transistor or a medium-gain silicon transitor for a slightly different sound
6-way Freq switch to select the original sound or fatter & higher gain sounds
AC adaptor
Panasonic film and Xicon low-leakage electro caps
1/2w resistors
True-bypass
Bright purple LED
I sell these for $130 (including shipping to the Lower 48, ask for shipping for other areas)

Hoping to quit Target, it sucks. And thanks Dave for giving us this forum. You can check out the YouTube videos by doing a Google search on either "Plum Crazy Fuzzy Lady" or "Plum Crazy The Squawk". Some vids posted by a couple of buyers. Thanks, Kaare

Let's try this. I must be breathing too much solder.

I has both of these too. :crackjam: The Fuzzy Lady has been one of my favourite non-vintage fuzz boxes for a good few years now. Its just like my own personable fuzzy sledge hammer. Stooges to Fu tones at the flick of a switch :badteeth: Plum Crazy is good shit y'all.

I just got my Fuzzy Lady and it is really nice. I love having a bias knob on the outside. It does have a nice midrange and I like both toggle modes as well. It is dynamic and can get crazzy splatty or a fat fuzz face sound, and even a tonebender mkII tone. It is now on my pedal board for gigs. Thanks!!!

Thanks and I'm glad you like it. The bias range is really a product to the transistors and selection. I've tried other types and combos but less than half will give the wide range of sounds I like. I'm working on some new stuff and should have a website up in a month or two. Gonna give the pedal building thing a try for a while as they only extra job I have and see what happens.
