Worship The Dark Titan (Dual Titan Stacking & Comparison)

Post by Kayzer »

Here is the CSB i just got that sexy new Sonic Titan DARK from the latest production run in a trade. (IMO one of the Sexiest Titans ever)

Since both of my titans are different here is what i know and think...

My old Purple Sonic Titan from early 2009 is supposed to be one of the first Dark sonic titans, the new Golden one is from the latest batch of dark titans and they are very different! The Purple on has more output and gain as well as more pissed and aggressive over all tone (touch more sparkle on the top end to my ears) The newer Golden one (August 2010) has less output volume and gain but a touch more low end with a smoother overall tone character. I am more than happy that i have 2 different versions from one of my favourite Pedals and they really shine when you stack them into each other...

I took the time do a neat shootout and demo session to get the impression about how they sound aswell as some picture porn ;-))))

Yes! Fucking excellent work there, sir. A medal you deserve. :trippn:

Right! I got it. Understood. The difference you perceive between to two is down to the taper type on the Level control. The Purple has linear taper, more volume boosting faster, less subtitles, more apparent highs at lower volumes. The Gold has logarithmic taper, more even increase in volume, smoother tonal increase, less apparent highs. This will also appear to affect the gain as the Titan's circuit depends on the Level control and boosting there off to drive the power amp stage. You could say Mr.Gold is Vintage Dark :teeth2: Ha! Just messing.

You should find that if you set em both flat out all down the line they have the same amount of gain and volume to hand.

Most brilliant demo's there, Kayzer. Really really good shit

This info is very appreciated thanks a lot for taking the time and check my clips out!

The best about both being different is that i have a reason to keep them both instead of having just a different paint job cause both are über sexy...
