Before I read all 56 pages of this thread can someone verify for me...the OC84 Goldie does not have the dirty hippie mod correct? Just the OC75 version? I'm starting to see gold in my dreams.

I'm pretty sure this is correct......the mod is to keep the OC75's more stable under varying temperatures. Someone with actual knowledge may know different, but I think that's the ideaTurkish wrote:Before I read all 56 pages of this thread can someone verify for me...the OC84 Goldie does not have the dirty hippie mod correct? Apparently Ant has a list entitled 'bear fart'. If you want your MKI.5 to sound like bear farts in the summertime heat you can request the circuit be constructed minus my cheeky little mod.

Quick question: How would the Goldie compare to the Super Bee mode in my D*A*M 1966? (FYI, the 1966 is from the 2017 run...)

Re: D*A*M/Sola Sound Tone Bender MKI.5
Tone Bender MKI.5 2019 - Switched to the same component types as used in the current Professional MKII, namely, metal film resistors, polystyrene output capacitor and slightly oversized electrolytics. Big thighs are out so the skinny PVC legs are back in.
The 'dirty hippie' mod is now down to one resistor and is a miniature type mounted beneath the circuit board. As I've said before - this mod alters the tone of the pedal in no way what so ever. It just stops the circuit over-biasing in extreme heat.
The stock transistor used is a black glass Philips OC75 but you can still request the use of the Mullard OC84. As of 16/08/18 the serial numbers for the 'Puke Bender' (AKA - The Brick Bender - Finished in a reddish/copper paint and the first MKI.5 we made with the OC75) and the gold MKI.5 were both combined. This makes a total of 173 MKI.5's made to date, 51 of which were the Puke Bender.
